Extended Day Program Shaping the Future Through Educational Excellence The Manhattan Beach Extended Day Program provides before and after school care for children attending Pacific, Meadows, Pennekamp, Robinson and Grand View Elementary schools and after school only at Manhattan Beach Middle School. At EDP, children enjoy a variety of age appropriate activities that focus on the individual needs and strengths of each child in a warm and nurturing environment. In each program, our highly qualified teaching staff encourages children to enhance the appropriate cognitive, emotional, physical, and social skills that will help them through their elementary and middle school years and beyond. More Information about Us: v Open from 7:00 am to 5:55 pm, Monday-Friday. v Follows district school calendar. v 14:1 child-to-teacher ratio. v Staff screened and hired through the MBUSD. v Professional teaching staff members who hold state CDC permits. v Teacher assistants who participate in regular training. The Extended Day Program offers: v Supervision to/from elementary classroom as appropriate. v Teacher-assisted quiet time for homework or other schools projects. v Organized outdoor games and activities. v Enriching art, science and music projects. v Large, clean classrooms, fully-equipped with age-appropriate toys and materials. v Safe, secure indoor and outdoor play areas. v An open invitation to visit or participate in your child’s experience. v Camp opportunities during non-student days/weeks and throughout the summer for an additional fee.
