Manhattan Beach Middle School has a state-of-the-art library media center.  We have a fully automated circulation system and online catalog that can be accessed from each of the classrooms and soon, from students' homes.  The library media center houses 16 networked student workstations that have Internet access, online databases, and an online encyclopedia for students' informational needs.

 The library is staffed daily by one full-time specialist and is open 7:30 to 4:00, including nutrition and lunch, for individual and class visits.  During the 2002-2003 school year, approximately twenty-five parent volunteers assisted with various tasks in the library.  Recent funding from the PTA, the School Site Council, the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, and the state of California has enabled MBMS to purchase many new and exciting library materials for the students' academic and recreational use.
