The MBUSD Literacy Committee consists of teacher leaders from all school sites examining the implementation of the new California State Standards. The committee has made recommendations regarding Balanced Literacy, Reading Workshop, and Writing Workshop to meet the demands of these new standards. Additionally, the committee explores professional development opportunities for teachers, curriculum mapping in reading and writing, and best practice to inform instruction.
