Kudos to Dr. Ben Dale for his December Principal's Message where he describes his efforts to be in the classroom as much as possible. His efforts reflect what our principals are all working on: supporting high quality instruction in every classroom. There is no more important function in our schools than instructional leadership. While principals get pulled in zillions of directions, those who can keep the focus on instruction are better able to thank teachers for a job well done, know what is going on in the classroom, and better know the strengths and areas for improvement for each teacher. In reading the message, you get some idea of the challenges of making this happen.
