Equity, Diversity, Social Justice and Inclusion (EDSJI)

The MBUSD Board Goals include a focus on equity, diversity, social justice, and inclusion as part of our work to create a community of care in our District. We recognize that we have a responsibility to actively oppose racism and discrimination and to guide this work with our students, families, and staff. 

The MBUSD Board of Trustees, in support of this goal, formed the Equity, Diversity, Social Justice, and Inclusion (EDSJI) Committee with over 40 members representing all school sites. 

The EDSJI Committee submitted and the Board of Trustees approved the EDSJI Action Plan on April 20, 2022.

The Board of Trustees approved a resolution on June 22, 2022, to dissolve the EDSJI Committee as the duties of this committee have been completed after submitting the  EDSJI Action Plan to guide the implementation of the plan at school sites.

Since then, MBUSD school sites have established committees to implement the EDSJI  Action Plan. Most recently site based teams provided a mid-year update to the Superintendent on December 15, 2022.
